Prairieburg announces Main Street closure for maintenance

Main Street in Prairieburg will be closed Thursday, July 31, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for road coating and maintenance, city officials announced.

No vehicle traffic or parking will be allowed on Main Street during the closure. Officials advised residents to make alternative parking and access arrangements before 7 a.m. Thursday.

The closure could be extended into Friday, Aug. 1, if weather or other delays interfere with the project. The north-south intersection at Locust Avenue (X-20) will remain open to allow local traffic to pass through.

City officials said the work is necessary to maintain the safety and quality of the roadway. Weather permitting, Main Street is expected to reopen to normal traffic after 5 p.m. Thursday.

Residents with questions or concerns are encouraged to contact City Hall, the mayor or a City Council member.
